Praia da Amoreira is a wide, dynamic beach on the western coast of the Algarve region in southwest Portugal, within the municipality of Aljezur and the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.

It lies about 8–9 km northwest of the village of Aljezur, where the Aljezur River meets the Atlantic, creating a large sweep of golden sand backed by high dunes and bounded by cliffs and a dark, rocky outcrop that locals say resembles a sleeping giant.

The beach is popular with both families and surfers, offering calm, shallow lagoon‑like water where the river and sea mix at low tide, as well as stronger, wave‑rich conditions better suited to surfing and bodyboarding out on the open ocean.

At the northern end is a small beach bar and restaurant, while the southern side links via a short walkable river crossing to neighboring Praia do Monte Clérigo, giving visitors a sense of a single, elongated, and still relatively peaceful stretch of coast rather than a busy resort strip.
