Praia da Cova Gala (Sul), also called Praia do Campismo, is an oceanic beach in São Pedro parish, Figueira da Foz, on Portugal’s Silver Coast (Costa de Prata), featuring a very long sand stretch of about 1.2 km backed by high dunes and forest.

The beach is divided by sea breaks (spurs) built to curb the advance of the sea, which calm the water and act as a wind barrier, making conditions good for surfing and bodyboarding, and it regularly hosts competitions in both sports. The southern half, surrounded by dunes and brush, is less crowded and feels wild and clean, while the northern area near the houses is more popular with bathers, and guests of the nearby Parque de Campismo de Gala often use this beach.

The best access through the campsite (permission needed) or by walking south along the sand from Cova Gala village. It holds Blue Flag and Gold Flag certifications, is a handicapped-accessible beach with Zero Poluição status, and offers showers, outdoor parking, a bar, a restaurant, and lifeguard security during the bathing season, with average summer seawater temperatures around 16°C. 

The spot is a beach break that works best at high and mid tide, produces both left and right waves, and is dog-friendly, making it a versatile, relatively uncrowded destination for surfers, families, and nature lovers seeking clean sand and forested dunes.
