Praia da Leirosa is a vast sandy beach in the traditional fishing village of Leirosa, a few kilometers south of Figueira da Foz on Portugal’s Silver Coast (Costa de Prata), known for its huge expanse of sand and strong Atlantic waves that make it highly suitable for surfing and bodyboarding as well as for safe bathing.

The beach lies just after Costa de Lavos Beach, separated by a sheltered, almost deserted dune area, and has no underwater currents or deep drop-offs, so swimming is generally safe even for families. Leirosa Beach is popular among surfers for its large sandy area and great waves, and it hosts an A‑frame left/right wave with a sandy bottom that works well all around, making it ideal for surf and water sports.

The beach holds an EEC Blue Flag, offers security/lifeguard service during the bathing season (though only a small section is supervised), and provides showers, a bar, a restaurant, and handicapped access, with average summer seawater temperatures around 16°C. It is relatively uncrowded compared with nearby Figueira da Foz beaches, making it a great escape for those seeking space, and typical beach occupancy is medium with easy access and free entry.
