Praia da Madalena (Sul) is the southern section of Madalena Beach, located in the Madalena neighborhood of Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto District, Portugal, along the Costa Verde and North Atlantic Ocean, near a large campsite.

This beach features an extensive sandy area with rockier conditions compared to the northern section, making it particularly popular among water sports enthusiasts and chosen by practitioners of nautical sports. The beach is frequented by young people and tourists and offers excellent facilities including beach volleyball courts that host both national and international competitions, surf and bodyboard opportunities, restaurants, bars, sunshade rentals, showers, outdoor parking, and lifeguards during the bathing season.

It's easily accessible by car or train and is known for good surfing conditions with consistent waves. The beach holds Blue Flag certification for water quality and environmental standards, as well as "Accessible Beach" designation and "Zero Pollution" award, and average summer water temperature is around 16°C. The large sandy expanse is very clean, with beautiful sunsets and thin sand, and the beach is part of the Local Nature Reserve of the Douro River Estuary.
