Praia da Oura
Albufeira, Portugal, Portugal
Praia da Oura is a popular Blue Flag beach in the Areias de São João area of Albufeira, Algarve, lying in a small bay about 3 kilometers east of the Old Town and forming part of Albufeira’s main resort strip.
It runs about 900 meters in length with wide, soft golden sand and a few rock formations that separate the beach into a livelier western section and a quieter eastern area known as Praia dos Bicos, which is more sheltered by pine‑topped cliffs.
The beach is famous as a daytime “party beach” for young tourists, packed with hotels, bars, and restaurants along the rear promenade, and it offers sunbed rentals, lifeguards in summer, toilets, showers, and water‑sports options such as kayaking and paddleboarding. Access is mainly by road or by bus from central Albufeira, and while parking is limited in peak season, it remains a convenient spot for visitors who want easy beach‑front lodging and nightlife close by.
