Praia da Ribeira is a small, sheltered beach in the town of Cascais, on Portugal’s Atlantic coast just west of Lisbon, often called Praia dos Pescadores (Fishermen’s Beach) because it once served as the local fishing harbour’s main landing spot.

The beach is only about 120 meters long, backed by the town centre and the Hotel Baía, with calm waters and little wave action since it sits inside Cascais Bay near the fishing and marina area. It is convenient for a quick swim or a short seaside break, especially for visitors staying in central Cascais, as it lies just a short walk from the train station and the main square, but it is relatively small, crowded in summer, and has no lifeguards, sunbeds, or beachside restaurant.

The cobbled seaside walkway and views of the fishing boats and the old Seixas Palace make it one of the most photographed spots in Cascais, appealing more to families, casual swimmers, and those who want a relaxed dip close to town rather than a long‑day beach.
