Praia das Fontainhas refers to more than one small beach in Portugal, but the most commonly highlighted one is a tiny, tucked‑away cove in the Algarve near Armação de Pêra or Lagoa, reached by a short coastal walk or a hidden path down the cliffs.

It is a wild, almost undeveloped beach with soft sand, clear turquoise water, and dramatic surrounding rocks that make it feel secluded and photogenic, yet it has no lifeguards, toilets, or commercial facilities, so visitors must bring their own food, water, and shade.

At some sites the name is also used for a rocky, semi‑tidal Oceanis beach in Oeiras near Lisbon, where natural rock pools and a small sand strip inside stone‑lined walls create a calm, sheltered spot for swimming within earshot of the open sea.
