Praia de Armação de Pêra is one of the Algarve's longest sandy bays, stretching over a kilometer with fine golden sand and calm, clear waters that make it safe and ideal for swimming, especially for families.

Formerly a small fishing village named for the tuna fishing gear (“armação”) once used here, it has evolved into a popular cosmopolitan resort while preserving its fishing heritage at the eastern end, known as Praia dos Pescadores, where colorful boats land directly on the sand and fishermen mend their nets.

The beach holds Blue Flag certification for water quality and safety, features a lively seafront promenade lined with restaurants, bars, shops, and high-rise apartments, and offers easy access to boat tours departing from the sand to nearby attractions like the famous Benagil Cave. 

The western end shows the Algarve's characteristic limestone cliffs, while the eastern side opens into a wide bay backed by the resort town, with summer seawater temperatures ranging from 20–23°C, making it a favorite destination for both Portuguese and international tourists.
