Praia de São Martinho do Porto is a 3-kilometer-long shell-shaped bay beach in the fishing and seaside resort town of São Martinho do Porto, Alcobaça, Portugal, on the Silver Coast of the Central Region, known for its calm, protected Atlantic waters that make it ideal for swimming, families, and water sports like windsurfing, sailing, and canoeing.

The beach has fine white sand, a promenade along the entire shoreline, and is frequently described as a “perfect shell” bay, with the ocean flowing between the Morros do Farol and Sant’Ana hills, and it is protected by the bay’s shape, resulting in gentle, shallow waves and very safe conditions for children.

The town was founded by monks from the Alcobaça Monastery in the 13th century and became a popular summer resort in the 20th century, with numerous restaurants serving local specialties like steamed lobster and stuffed spider crab, and today it is a lively, family-friendly destination with a well-maintained, clean, and organized beachfront area.

The beach carries the EEC Blue Flag, offers lifeguard surveillance, sunshade and boat rental, showers, outdoor parking, bars, restaurants, windsurfing and sailing facilities, and is an accessible beach for people with reduced mobility, with average summer seawater temperatures of 17–19°C. Its calm waters, pristine sands, and scenic shell-shaped bay make it a top choice for relaxation, water sports, and family outings, and it is often called a hidden gem on Portugal’s Silver Coast.
