Praia de São Rafael is a small, iconic beach on the Atlantic south coast of the Algarve, located about 4 km (2.5 miles) west of Albufeira's old town in the Sesmarias area of Portugal.

It competes with Praia da Falésia for the title of Albufeira's best beach and is considered one of the Algarve's most beautiful, featuring fine golden sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and dramatic ocher limestone cliffs surrounding it on three sides. The beach is set in a sheltered cove with interesting eroded rock formations that have names like Ninho das Andorinhas (Swallow's Nest) and Ponte Pequena (Small Bridge), plus a sea cave visible from the shore.

In summer, the water is calm with few waves, making it excellent for swimming and snorkeling, and it holds Blue Flag status for cleanliness and safety. The main sandy area can get very crowded during peak summer, but quieter spots exist among the rock formations nearby. Facilities include toilets, public showers, a beachside restaurant, lifeguard service in bathing season, sun lounger and parasol rentals, pedalos, kayaks, paddleboards, and surfboards for hire, plus good accessibility with boardwalks, paved slopes, and a parking lot for disabled visitors.
