Praia de Vale do Lobo is a long, luxurious golden-sand beach in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, stretching over 1.5 to 2 kilometers directly in front of the prestigious Vale do Lobo resort between Quarteira and Almancil.

The beach is famous for its iconic ochre and red cliffs that create a magnificent backdrop, with erosion carving deep gullies and curiously shaped natural formations in the cliff face. The soft pearly-white sand contrasts beautifully with the deep blue Atlantic waters and the green of stone pines that shelter nearby golf courses. 

The broad sandy area is lined with well-kept beach umbrellas, sun loungers, and a massage station, offering a refined, upscale experience. A beach bar and restaurant called the Praca provides fantastic dining, vibrant bars, nightly entertainment, and poolside service where you can order without leaving your umbrella. The beach concession operates from dusk to dawn and includes water sports like jet ski hire (open summer months), plus beach massages and relaxation on palm leaf parasols.

The resort, established in 1962 as Portugal's first luxury development, features two championship golf courses, one of the largest tennis and padel facilities in the Algarve, and the Beach Club Pool complex with jacuzzis, balinese beds, showers, and changing facilities. The sea is calm and ideal for swimming, with an average summer temperature, and the beach holds Blue Flag status for cleanliness and safety.
