Praia do Cabedelo is a stunning half-moon-shaped beach located just across the Lima River from the vibrant city of Viana do Castelo in northern Portugal, renowned as one of the Minho region's best beaches with golden, powdery sand spanning approximately 1 kilometer along grassy dunes backed by wind-blown pine forests.

This popular ocean beach, also known as Praia de Norte Darque, is divided into two sections: a medium-sized northern beach at the Lima River mouth and a much extensive southern beach outside the river bar, both with continuous dune systems and generous parking facilities. The beach holds the prestigious EEC Blue Flag award for water quality and safety, offers full accessibility, and is patrolled by lifeguards during the season with free amenities including showers, toilets, and changing rooms.

It's quickly gaining fame as one of Europe's top kitesurfing destinations due to consistent thermal winds called "Nortada" (strong north wind) peaking from May to September with speeds up to 35 knots, while also being ideal for surfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, yoga, and stand-up paddleboarding.
