Praia do Furadouro is a vibrant maritime beach in Ovar, Aveiro, Portugal, known for its vast three-kilometer sandy stretches and powerful Atlantic waves that make it a popular spot for surfers and windsurfers, while its traditional fishing roots still shine through with fishermen using the historic Arte Xávega technique (now with tractors instead of cows) on weekends.

The beach is embraced by a dense pine forest that creates a natural buffer and scenic backdrop, and beyond the forest lies the calm waters of the Ria de Aveiro estuary, further favored by windsurfers, offering diverse water activities. Furadouro has Blue Flag certification, ensuring high environmental and safety standards, and offers good beachfront access, parking, bars, restaurants, and seasonal lifeguard surveillance, though parking can be difficult on hot, peak days and the beach is windy with medium to big waves and very cold water, so visitors should respect the flag system (red, yellow, green) for safety.

The beach is accessible via a scenic 3 km cycle path from Ovar, making it popular with cyclists and hikers, and it has well-preserved dunes, clean sand, a lively atmosphere, stunning sunsets, and long stretches ideal for leisurely walks, though recent erosion has reshaped parts of the beach, with the most spacious and best bathing areas now at the far north and south ends.
