Praia do Guincho is a beautiful and expansive Atlantic beach located near Cascais on Portugal’s Estoril coast, about 35 minutes from Lisbon. It is renowned for its powerful waves, strong winds, and stunning natural scenery, backed by the Serra de Sintra hills and part of the protected Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

With a shoreline around 750 to 800 meters long, it is a prime destination for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing due to consistent swells and winds, making it popular among experienced water sports enthusiasts. The beach's strong currents and winds, while excellent for sports, make it less suitable for casual swimming or sunbathing, especially for families with young children.

Facilities include surf schools, board rentals, beach cafes, parking, and lifeguard protection in summer. Its wild, rugged ambience is complemented by historic landmarks nearby, such as the converted Fortaleza do Guincho fortress turned hotel.
