Praia do Homem Nu, whose name translates to “Naked Man Beach,” is a secluded, official nudist beach located on the western end of Ilha de Tavira (Tavira Island) in the Algarve region of Portugal, within the stunning Ria Formosa Natural Park.

The beach stretches over 4 kilometers (about 2.5 miles) of fine white sand with calm, azure waters, creating a tranquil and often deserted atmosphere even in summer. It became an unofficial nude beach in the 1980s due to its isolated, wild location and was officially designated a naturist beach in 2004. The name likely originates from either a shipwreck survivor who reached the shore naked or from local fishermen who historically bathed naked there.

The beach has no facilities, lifeguards, or support equipment, making it a true hidden paradise for nature enthusiasts seeking solitude. One unique feature is a 250-meter interior lagoon with mixed salt and rainwater where visitors can observe various bird species. Access requires walking about 1.5 kilometers west from Praia do Barril, and it's mostly frequented by Northern European tourists who make the journey along the sand.
