Praia Fluvial de Nossa Senhora da Piedade is a small, scenic river beach in the Serra da Lousã region of central Portugal, set along the Ribeira de São João just below the historic Arouce (Lousã) Castle and near the Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Piedade.

The beach uses weirs on the river to create two clear, shallow‑depth natural pools—one for children and a deeper one for adults—making it safe and family‑friendly while still feeling natural and refined. The area is built largely in local stone and shale, with a picnic area, a bar‑with‑esplanade, toilets, showers, a small restaurant called “O Burgo,” and a diving board that suits light‑hearted jumpers as well as relaxed swimmers.

Access is smooth and inclusive, with pathways and facilities adapted for people with reduced mobility, including an amphibious chair, and the whole site is set in a quiet, green valley ideal for combining a swim with a visit to the nearby castle and hermitage.
