Praia Pequena do Rodízio (also called Praia Pequena) is a beautiful, family-friendly, well-preserved, safe, and clean sandy ocean beach in Colares, Sintra, within the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais on Portugal’s west coast, known for its long stretch of about 1.2 km of sand and a secluded, almost surreal, paradise-like setting.

The beach is calm and uncrowded, with clean water and friendly locals, and is a place where clothing is optional (nudism is permitted), making it a popular spot for naturists seeking a quiet, private experience, while dogs are allowed year-round, adding to its appeal for pet owners.

Access is by car down a rough, narrow road to a cliffside track that descends to bulldozed ruins of former houses, and there are no lifeguards, showers, or rental facilities (no umbrellas or chairs), so visitors should bring their own supplies, use caution due to potential rockfalls and wildlife, and be aware that swimming is not ideal because of the lack of supervision and generally agitated sea.

The northern end of the beach has more rock formations and is less inviting for bathing, while the central and southern areas are open and better for sunbathing, picnicking, and family games, and the agitated sea and consistent swell attract surf and bodyboard enthusiasts, with the best months to visit being May, July, August, and September when temperatures are high and crowds are lighter.
