Prokletije National Park is a spectacular protected area in eastern Montenegro, near the towns of Plav and Gusinje.

Established in 2009, it is Montenegro’s newest national park and forms part of the rugged Prokletije Mountains, also known as the “Accursed Mountains,” along the borders with Albania and Kosovo. The park is renowned for its dramatic peaks, deep valleys, glacial lakes, crystal-clear rivers, and rich biodiversity.

It is home to thousands of plant species, including many rare and endemic varieties, as well as wildlife such as brown bears, wolves, lynx, chamois, and eagles. A favorite destination for hikers, mountaineers, and nature lovers, Prokletije National Park offers some of the most beautiful and unspoiled landscapes in the Balkans, with breathtaking mountain scenery and numerous opportunities for outdoor adventure.
