Puy Launay

Linac, Lot, France, France

---

Puy Launay, also known as the Château de Puy-Launay, is a historic castle located near the village of Linac in the Lot department of southwestern France.

Set on a hill overlooking the surrounding valleys, the site has medieval origins, with evidence of a castle existing there since at least the 14th century and major rebuilding carried out during the 15th century. The castle features a large quadrangular structure, a square stair tower, and remains of defensive elements such as round towers, a former keep, and parts of a medieval walkway.

Over the centuries it passed through the hands of several noble families and evolved from a fortified residence into a country estate. Today, Puy-Launay is a privately owned historic monument recognized for its architectural and cultural value. Its preserved rooms, decorative interiors, and picturesque hilltop setting make it an important part of the heritage of the Lot region.
