Ramsgate South Beach is a scenic coastal stretch along the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast in South Africa, known for its attractive rocks and peaceful, clean atmosphere that recently looked like a movie scene from a Mediterranean island.

The beach is part of the greater Ramsgate area, which boasts a Blue Flag Beach—the main Ramsgate Beach is one of only eight Blue Flag beaches in KwaZulu-Natal, certifying it meets stringent international criteria for being clean, safe, and environmentally friendly. Ramsgate South Beach lies along a pleasant 6km beach walk called the Ramsgate Marine Ramble that links many coves and beaches from Southbroom in the south to Margate in the north, maintained mainly by volunteers.

However, swimming is inadvisable at Ramsgate South Beach specifically due to the presence of many rocks and lack of safe swimming conditions, making it better suited for walking, sightseeing, and enjoying the natural coastal scenery. The area features golden sands backed by lush green hills with sugarcane and banana plantations, warm subtropical climate year-round, warm Indian Ocean waters, abundant bird life, and rich marine life including whales and dolphins visible offshore.

Ramsgate itself is a quaint, artistic seaside village with just 1,500 permanent residents, known for its close-knit community, galleries, antique shops, scenic coastline walking trails, and famous Waffle House.
