Ray-sur-Saône is a picturesque village in the Haute-Saône department of eastern France, located on the banks of the Saône River.

With around 200 residents, it is recognized as a “Cité de Caractère” for its historic charm, traditional architecture, and scenic setting. The village is best known for the Château de Ray-sur-Saône, a magnificent hilltop castle that overlooks the valley. Originally a medieval fortress dating back to the 10th century, it was rebuilt in a classical style during the 18th century and is surrounded by a beautiful six-hectare English-style park.

Visitors are drawn to Ray-sur-Saône for its peaceful riverside atmosphere, historic streets, heritage buildings, and panoramic views. The combination of the château, the surrounding countryside, and the Saône River makes it one of the most attractive historic villages in the region.
