Ricey-Bas is one of the three historic villages that together form the commune of Les Riceys in the Aube department of northeastern France.

Located in the Laigne Valley, it is part of the Côte des Bar, the southern heart of the Champagne wine region, and is surrounded by extensive vineyards. Les Riceys is famous for having the largest vineyard area in all of Champagne and for being the only Champagne commune authorized to produce three appellations: Champagne, Coteaux Champenois, and the rare Rosé des Riceys, a highly regarded wine made from Pinot Noir grapes.

Ricey-Bas is particularly known for its architectural heritage, including the historic Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens and the Château de Ricey-Bas, a château built on the site of an older medieval fortress. The village features traditional stone buildings, winegrowers’ houses, and a charming rural atmosphere. Today, Ricey-Bas attracts visitors for its rich wine culture, historic landmarks, and picturesque Champagne landscapes, offering an authentic experience of one of France’s most distinctive wine-producing areas.
