River Beach Pego Escuro (Praia Fluvial da Peneda/Pego Escuro) is a river beach in the historic town of Góis, Central Portugal, on the banks of the River Ceira near the Serra da Estrela region, known for its extensive grassy area, purity of water, and striking natural landscape with majestic mountains and a sandy island in the middle of the river.

It offers irresistible, refreshing swims in its clear waters, plus kayaking and canoeing for adventurous visitors, and is integrated into the Color ADD project that uses color-coded symbols on flags to help people with color vision differences. The beach is awarded Blue Flag and Gold Quality certifications, has a bar with riverside terrace, ramps for people with reduced mobility, restrooms (including accessible ones), a picnic area, parking (with one space for reduced mobility), and a first-aid post, and the bathing season runs from 1 July to 31 August.

Its setting is impressive, with a privileged view of Góis’s royal bridge and high serras, and it is easily accessible via the N2 and EN342 roads, about 20 km from the town center, making it an idyllic, hidden gem for relaxation, adventure, and scenic appreciation.
