It was once a peaceful retreat for Carmes déchaussés in the late 17th century, who enclosed the property with nearly 3 km of brick walls and established a chapel there.

The estate includes expansive meadows, woods, and notable architectural features such as a baroque portal from the 1700s, a manor house from the 16th and 17th centuries, a 1718 concierge house, various outbuildings, and a farm. Though privately owned and not open to public visits, the domain can be glimpsed along a walking path called the "promenade des murs," which encircles the grounds.

The estate was officially recognized and protected as a heritage site in 1948, reflecting its cultural and historical value in the region.​
