Schloss Oberhausen
Burg-Reuland, Belgium, Belgium
Schloss Oberhausen is a protected country castle in the small village of Oberhausen, part of the municipality of Burg-Reuland in the German-speaking community of eastern Belgium, positioned on the northern edge of the settlement on a gentle hillside overlooking the border river Our to the south and east.
Built as a fashionable 18th-century country house, the main building dates mainly to 1746 according to the inscription above its entrance door and was probably constructed in two phases, with the front façade showing a clear architectural break that suggests an attached wing once used as a separate living area.
The structure is a two-storey manor with a hipped roof and walls rendered in pink plaster, arranged around a courtyard with ancillary buildings on three sides and the main house on the west side, and it has been officially protected as a monument since 21 December 1988.
