Schloss Weims
Eupen, Belgium, Belgium
Schloss Weims in Eupen, Belgium, is a 14th-century castle originally established as a fief from Aachen Minster, created by partition from the manor of Libermé.
It was the seat of a collateral line of the von Libermé family. The castle features a water moat and a historic drawbridge, elements typical of medieval water castles. It suffered damage during the Thirty Years' War but was restored, preserving its distinctive stairwell and oak doors.
Today, the castle is a protected historical monument and has been adapted into a bed and breakfast, offering visitors a chance to experience its medieval charm nestled within well-maintained gardens and surrounded by centuries-old lime trees, continuing a family legacy for over 100 years.
