Sigy-le-Châtel is a small rural village in the Saône-et-Loire department of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, it is known for its peaceful atmosphere and medieval heritage. The village's main historical landmark is the Château de Sigy-le-Châtel, the ruins of a feudal castle that stands on a rocky spur overlooking the surrounding area. The castle dates back at least to the 10th century and is considered one of the oldest fortifications in the Mâconnais region.

Over the centuries, it belonged to several noble families before falling into decline and eventually becoming a ruin. Although the castle is privately owned and not generally open to the public, its remains still provide a striking reminder of the region’s medieval past. The village also preserves a strong connection to its heritage through local cultural activities, including an annual theatre festival held within the castle grounds.
