Sounine
Tunisia, Tunisia
Sounine is a small coastal village in northern Tunisia, located in the Bizerte Governorate about 60 kilometers from the capital Tunis and 30 kilometers from the city of Bizerte.
It lies on the northern coast facing the Gulf of Tunis, between the town of Ras Jebel and the Cape Farina area, and is known for its quiet, rural atmosphere and rocky shoreline with a few small sandy coves. The village is divided into an inland settlement and “Sounine plage,” a seaside section with rocks and a nearby sand beach nicknamed “Acapulco” that is popular for swimming and views over the sea.
The area is surrounded by fertile farmland where local farmers grow vegetables and pomegranates, and the landscape is marked by low hills and two distinctive pyramidal mountains near the neighboring village of Raf Raf.
