Stari Grad Ribnik is a medieval fortress located in Ribnik, Croatia, with origins tracing back to the 13th century when it was built as a defensive stronghold in the Obvrh Creek Valley.

It was initially owned by the Babonić family, a powerful noble house in medieval Croatia, before transferring to the Frankopan family in the late 14th century, who expanded and maintained it for nearly two centuries. The fortress played a strategic role in protecting vital trade routes and the surrounding region from Ottoman invasions, enduring numerous conflicts and attacks from the 15th to the 17th centuries.

Architecturally, Ribnik Fortress featured strong stone walls with circular towers, a central keep, a chapel, and a courtyard that supported daily life and defense. It was important for military and political control in the area, serving as a center of local governance and wartime refuge. Despite some ruinous sections today, the fortress remains a symbol of Croatia's medieval heritage and offers insights into the historical struggles of the region against invading forces and local noble power dynamics.
