Taylors Beach
Australia, Australia
Taylors Beach can refer to more than one place in Australia, but the most commonly visited beach by that name is a small coastal community on the east coast of Queensland, in the Shire of Hinchinbrook, about 18 kilometres east of Ingham.
It lies along the Coral Sea and fronts a long stretch of sandy beach running either side of the Victoria Creek estuary, with the northern section backing onto a small settlement that has a few houses, a caravan park, and a small store. The beach is very shallow and normally calm, sheltered by a sand spit that protects it from large waves, but strong tidal currents run in the channel off the shore so swimming is best avoided.
The area is popular with anglers and boaters, who use the boat ramp and foreshore reserve for fishing trips and there are no lifeguards or formal surf‑club patrols, making it a quiet, mainly local‑use spot rather than a big tourist beach.
