The Dubai Fountain

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Dubai Fountain is a giant, choreographed water‑show installation set on the 12‑hectare Burj Khalifa Lake in Downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates, directly in front of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. It is the world’s largest performing fountain system, stretching about 275 meters long and capable of shooting water up to around 150 meters high, powered by more than 6,600 underwater lights and dozens of colored projectors that sync with music. The displays combine classical to contemporary Arabic and international tunes, with water jets, lasers, and lights performing in coordinated patterns that can be seen clearly from the lakeside promenade, nearby malls, and even on boat rides around the lake. Built at a cost of roughly 800 million dirhams (about 218 million US dollars) and designed by the firm behind the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas, The Dubai Fountain reopened after renovations in 2025 and typically runs daytime shows once or twice in the afternoon and then every 30 minutes in the evening, making it one of the most popular free attractions in the city.
