The Old Castle of Kalnik, or Stari grad Kalnik, is one of northern Croatia's oldest and most dramatic feudal fortresses, perched on a steep rocky outcrop called Vuklenec in the Kalnik Mountains near the village of Kalnik in Koprivnica-Križevci County.

First documented in 1243 under King Bela IV as a royal stronghold that helped repel the Tatar invasion, it guarded ancient Roman roads and served military purposes through the Middle Ages with robust stone walls and towers offering sweeping views.

Abandoned by the 18th century after Ottoman threats waned, its impressive ruins now attract hikers via challenging trails, blending prehistoric defensive roots with medieval history amid Prigorje's rolling landscapes.
