Thohoyandou Botanical Garden, now the Thohoyandou National Botanical Garden, is a state botanical garden in the town of Thohoyandou in the far north‑eastern part of Limpopo province, South Africa. Covering about 89 hectares, it is the first national botanical garden in Limpopo and the eleventh in South Africa, managed by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). The garden conserves and showcases mainly Soutpansberg Mountain Bushveld vegetation and other flora characteristic of the Vhembe Biosphere Reserve, with a strong emphasis on local endemics and savanna plant communities. Originally established in 1986 by the former Venda government, it passed through provincial management before being transferred to SANBI, declared a national botanical garden in 2021, and officially launched in 2022, and today it combines conservation, environmental education, research, scenic walking trails, picnic areas, and a small running stream to serve both local communities and visitors.
