Unity Park in Addis Ababa is a large cultural, historical, and wildlife complex built inside Ethiopia’s National Palace compound in the Arat Kilo district, opened in 2019 as part of a city beautification and heritage project.

It brings together restored imperial buildings, museums on Ethiopia’s history, and former residences of emperors Menelik II and Haile Selassie with a traditional garden, botanical areas showcasing indigenous plants, and cultural pavilions representing different regions and ethnic groups.​

The park also includes a zoo with iconic Ethiopian wildlife such as black-maned lions, gelada baboons, zebras, giraffes, and various birds, plus an aquarium with native aquatic species. Visitors follow well-laid paths through sculpture gardens, exhibition halls, and green spaces with cafes and viewing spots, typically spending three to four hours exploring this compact introduction to Ethiopia’s past, culture, and biodiversity in the heart of the capital.
