Vienne-le-Château is a small rural commune in the Marne department of northeastern France, located in the heart of the Argonne region and surrounded by extensive forests and natural landscapes.

The village lies along the Biesme River and is known for its peaceful setting and strong connection to the Argonne countryside. The area has a long history dating back to the early Middle Ages. A castle once stood on a hill overlooking the village, although only traces of it remain today.

The Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul Church, a protected historic monument, is one of the commune’s most important heritage sites. Vienne-le-Château is especially known for its role during the First World War. Located near some of the fiercest fighting in the Argonne Forest, it contains several memorial sites, military cemeteries, and the restored Vallée Moreau camp, which help preserve the memory of the conflict.
