Uzbekistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan. Its capital and largest city is Tashkent. Uzbekistan has a population of more than 37 million, making it the most populous country in Central Asia. Uzbek is the official language, and most inhabitants are Sunni Muslims.
