Approach Beach is a small, gazetted beach in the Ting Kau area of Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong, located near the Yau Kom Tau stop along Castle Peak Road on the shores of the South China Sea.

It is managed by the Hong Kong government’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department and is known for having barbecue pits, making it a popular spot for local family picnics and casual seaside outings rather than heavy swimming.

The beach is rated Grade 2 for water quality by the Environmental Protection Department, and although it is small in size, it offers calm waters and a relaxed, family‑friendly atmosphere close to major roads and the busy Ting Kau and Tsing Ma bridges.

Lifeguards once operated there but have been suspended since the late 1990s due to construction‑related pollution and changing conditions, so many visitors now use it more for barbecues, walks, and sunset views than for regular swimming.
