Arboretum De Paris
Paris, France
Arboretum de Paris is a large, peaceful tree garden on the eastern edge of the Bois de Vincennes, created in 1936 and now managed as part of the Jardin botanique de Paris.
Covering around 12–13 hectares, it is laid out as a “living museum” of about 1,200 trees representing roughly 650–800 different species, with collections of deciduous trees, conifers, cherry trees and notable specimens such as giant sequoia, unusual pines, and rare Asian trees.
The site includes varied habitats like ponds, wetlands, meadows and hedgerows that support birds and other wildlife, and each tree is labeled so visitors can easily learn names and origins as they stroll. Open daily and free to enter, the arboretum offers calm woodland paths just a short walk from city streets and also serves as a place for environmental education, gardening courses and plant trials that support biodiversity and climate-friendly planting in Paris.
