Castle Hugstein (Château du Hugstein) is a ruined medieval castle located on the border of the communes of Buhl and Guebwiller in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, northeastern France.

Built in 1227 by Hugo de Rothenbourg, Prince-Abbot of Murbach, it was intended to protect Murbach Abbey and control access to the Florival Valley. Over the centuries, the castle was expanded and strengthened, particularly during the 15th century when new defensive features, including an impressive gate tower and additional fortifications, were added.

It later served various purposes, including as a residence and a prison, before falling into decline after damage from conflict, lightning strikes, and abandonment. Today, the castle survives as a picturesque ruin overlooking Buhl and the surrounding valley. Its remains, including parts of the ramparts and a rare cylindrical keep, offer visitors a glimpse into medieval military architecture. The site has been protected as a French historic monument since 1898 and is freely accessible to the public.
