Chandrima Udyan, also known as Zia Udyan or “Moonlight Park,” is a large public green space in the Sher‑e‑Bangla Nagar area of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh’s Dhaka Division. It lies just north of the National Parliament Building (Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban) and covers about 73 acres of lawns, flower gardens, and walking paths, centered around a crescent‑shaped lake that gives the park its scenic, open feel. The park is best known as the burial site and memorial of former President Ziaur Rahman, whose white‑marble mausoleum sits in a landscaped section that many Bangladeshis visit for both recreation and quiet reflection. Locals and tourists alike come here to take walks, relax, exercise, or enjoy a break from the city’s traffic, and the park is easily accessible via a bridge over the lake from the main road opposite the parliament complex.
