Chantemerle is a commune in the Marne department of northeastern France, but the name also refers to other places including a village in the French Alps known for the Serre Chevalier ski resort and the Château de Chantemerle in the Savoie region.

The Château de Chantemerle, located in La Bâthie near Albertville, dates back to the 13th century with adaptations in the 14th century to withstand firearms. It was built by the archbishop of Tarentaise as a symbol of authority during conflicts with the Count of Savoy.

The castle features a polygonal enclosure, a cylindrical keep with five levels, and a square tower, with remnants of fortified buildings around the courtyard. The château has fallen into disrepair but was purchased and consolidated for preservation in 1988. Chantemerle village in the Alps is also popular for its mountain activities and picturesque setting.
