Château d’Aucors is a historic manor and castle site located in Mareuil en Périgord, in the Dordogne department of southwestern France.

Perched on a limestone cliff above the Nizonne Valley, it occupies a naturally defensive position and offers impressive views of the surrounding countryside. The site dates back to the 11th century, when the first castle was built. It was occupied by the English during the Hundred Years’ War before being recaptured in 1435.

After the war, a manor house was constructed on the site, and following damage during the Wars of Religion, the château was rebuilt in 1617. The château features two residential wings connected by a distinctive polygonal stair tower, as well as small corner turrets known as bartizans. A notable feature is a well approximately 30 meters deep located within the building.

Today, Château d’Aucors is a protected historic monument and is valued for its medieval heritage, unique cliffside setting, and well-preserved architecture, making it one of the notable historic landmarks of the Périgord region.
