The Château de Châlucet is a remarkable medieval castle ruin located in Saint-Jean-Ligoure, about 10 km south of Limoges in the Haute-Vienne department of central France.

Built between the 12th and 13th centuries on a rocky promontory overlooking the confluence of the Briance and Ligoure rivers, it was once one of the largest and most powerful fortresses in the Limousin region. The site consists of two fortified sections, known as Upper and Lower Châlucet, and includes impressive remains such as the Tour Jeannette, a 12th-century keep, defensive walls, and traces of a medieval settlement.

Throughout its history, the fortress played important roles during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion before being largely dismantled in the late 16th century. Today, the castle is a protected historic monument and a popular visitor attraction. Surrounded by woodland and walking trails, it offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval history while providing scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
