Château de Quéribus is a dramatic medieval fortress perched on a steep rocky peak above the village of Cucugnan in southern France.

Standing at more than 700 meters above sea level, it offers spectacular views across the Corbières hills, the Pyrenees, and the surrounding countryside. Often associated with the Cathar castles, Quéribus played an important defensive role during the Middle Ages and later became a frontier fortress guarding the border between France and the Kingdom of Aragon.

Its strategic position made it one of the most formidable strongholds in the region. Today, visitors are drawn to its well-preserved ruins, impressive stone architecture, and breathtaking panoramic views. The castle is considered one of the most iconic historic landmarks in the Aude region and a highlight of the Cathar heritage trail.
