Château du Wasigenstein is a medieval castle ruin located near Niedersteinbach in the Bas-Rhin department of Alsace, northeastern France.

Perched on two striking sandstone rock formations in the Northern Vosges, it is one of the region’s most distinctive castle sites. The complex consists of two linked castles, the Grand-Wasigenstein and the Petit-Wasigenstein, built during the 13th century on separate rocks divided by a natural fissure. Over time, ownership became fragmented among several noble families, leading to frequent disputes and repeated sieges.

The castle features impressive rock-cut stairways, defensive walls, cisterns, living quarters, and a fortified tower. Many parts were carved directly into the sandstone, creating a remarkable example of medieval architecture adapted to the natural landscape. After suffering damage through wars and conflicts, the site was abandoned by the late Middle Ages and eventually fell into ruin.
