Crozant is a small commune in the Creuse department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France, situated on the banks of the Creuse River near the boundary with the Indre department.

It is renowned for its medieval ruins, notably the fortress perched on a rocky outcrop between the Creuse and its tributary, the Sédelle. The castle, built in the 13th century, was historically significant and inspired the Crozant School, a group of landscape painters active from the 19th to mid-20th centuries who captured the dramatic natural scenery of the area.

Crozant’s population is under 500, and the village has a rural character with a focus on preserving its natural landscapes and historical sites. The region around the commune includes walking trails, waterfalls, and a large lake created by the Eguzon Dam, adding to its appeal for nature lovers and cultural visitors alike.​
