Darts Hill Garden Park
Surrey, Canada, Canada
Darts Hill Garden Park is a serene 7.5-acre hillside botanical garden located at 1633-170th Street in South Surrey, British Columbia, just a 10-minute drive from White Rock.
Created by Francisca and Edwin Darts over 70 years from a logged parcel of land, the garden showcases their pioneering spirit and pure love of horticulture, featuring winding paths through densely vegetated forested-style gardens with rare plants, shrubs, and trees from all over the world.
The couple initially transformed the property into an award-winning orchard before gradually creating a collection garden filled with unusual plants from around the globe, and in 1994 they gifted the garden to the City of Surrey through a 999-year agreement to ensure residents could enjoy and learn about plants.
The park is open seasonally from April to September, typically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM (with some variations), and is closed to the public between October and March. Admission is by suggested donation of $5 per person, with children 11 or 12 and under entering free, and annual membership is available at $25 for year-round access.
