Fort la Latte, also known as Château de La Roche Goyon, is a spectacular medieval fortress located on a rocky headland near Cap Fréhel in Brittany, overlooking the Bay of Saint-Malo and the English Channel.

Built in the 14th century, its dramatic cliff-top position made it an important defensive stronghold and one of the most strategically placed castles on the French coast. Over the centuries, the fortress was besieged, damaged, abandoned, and later strengthened with additional defenses under Louis XIV.

Extensive restoration work in the 20th century helped preserve the castle, which is now recognized as a historic monument. Today, Fort la Latte is one of Brittany’s most famous landmarks, admired for its towers, drawbridge, sea views, and rich history. Its striking appearance has also made it a popular filming location and a favorite destination for visitors exploring the Emerald Coast.
