Gjorslev Castle is Denmark's largest and best-preserved medieval castle, located near Store Heddinge on the Stevns Peninsula, originally built around 1400 by Peder Jensen Lodehat, Bishop of Roskilde, as a cruciform Gothic fortress surrounded by moats.

Constructed from local Stevns limestone and large "monk bricks," its 30-meter central tower features seven stories, with a slightly longer south arm and later additions like a 1638 north wing and 1843 south wing, plus 1748 hipped roofs.

Owned by Roskilde bishops until the Reformation, it passed through noble families, merchants, and the Crown before the Tesdorpf family acquired it in 1925, now hosting guided tours, cultural events, and Manor Day activities amid its historic park and nearby timbered farm buildings.
