Hombourg-Haut is a historic medieval fortress town in northeastern France, located in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region, within the cultural area of Lorraine. It was founded in the 13th century by the bishops of Metz, who built a fortified town and a collegiate church.

The old village lies nestled at the foot of this impressive church amidst a green, wooded landscape. Over the centuries, Hombourg-Haut developed around its castle and steel industry, with the ironworks established in the 18th century playing a key role in its economy until the 1980s.
